Free Instagram fake engagement checker
Enter an Instagram handle. We check the likes and comments on its recent posts and Reels against Sup’s data on accounts the same size, look for likes that are the same on every post, read the comments, and mark every post that sits outside the normal range. No sign-up.
Public data only, fetched live and kept for three days. To have a profile excluded, email hello@sup.co.
Method
How we check an account's engagement
Read on every recent post and Reel, then compared with Instagram creators of the same size in Sup’s data.
We read the account’s recent posts and Reels. On each Reel we work out how many viewers liked it, and on each post how many comments it got per 100 likes. Then we compare both with the range for creators with the same number of followers, from 36,513 Instagram posts by 25,225 creators that Sup tracks.
We also look for two patterns that real accounts rarely show: like counts that are almost the same on every post, and comments that are mostly emoji, stock phrases or the same text repeated. Paid partnership posts are compared with the rest, because brands often boost them.

Signs of bought engagement
Likes without comments
Comments per like far below the range on most posts. Likes are cheap to buy and comments are not.
The same likes every time
Real posts swing a lot. A like count that barely moves from post to post is a sign of a monthly package.
Generic comments
Mostly “nice”, “love it”, emoji or repeated text. Comment groups and bought comments look like this.
Views without likes
Reels with plays far ahead of their likes. Bought views look like this, and so do boosted Reels.
Bought followers leave a different mark. Run the fake follower check on the same account, and check a single Reel with the Instagram fake views checker.
FAQ
Fake engagement questions
What is fake engagement on Instagram?
Likes, comments and views that did not come from people who chose to watch: bought packages, bots, and comment groups (pods) where creators agree to comment on each other’s posts. It makes an account look more popular than its real audience.
How do you spot bought likes?
Bought likes come without comments. In Sup’s data an Instagram creator with 10k to 100k followers gets a median of 5.0 comments per 100 likes. An account far below that range on most posts, or with almost the same like count on every post, is worth a closer look.
How is this different from the fake follower check?
The fake follower check opens a sample of the account’s followers and scores each one. This tool looks at what happens on the posts: likes per view, comments per like and comment quality. Bought followers and bought engagement are often bought separately, so run both.
Can the tool prove that engagement was bought?
No. Public numbers cannot show where a like came from. Giveaways, boosted posts and a post shared outside Instagram can all look unusual. The result says which numbers sit outside the normal range and never calls a creator fake.
Why are some posts marked in the grid?
A marked post sits in the bottom 5% of Sup’s data for accounts its size on likes per view or on comments per like. One marked post means little. Most of them marked is a pattern.
Is the fake engagement checker free?
Yes, with no sign-up. Each visitor can run 20 new checks an hour and 60 a day. Accounts checked in the last three days load from our cache.
